A pleasent surprise. Miller Lite signed a sponsership with the Jackets and here is the freshly approved schedule that should be hitting Columbus next week.

Blue Jackets Cards- Year 10

Has it really been 10 years since I started this project? I have been making custom CBJ hockey cards since the beginning. There are a few early players that I don't have photos for and I can't seem to find anywhere. I just updated stats & photos from last season. It is a tedious adventure each summer, but it usually turns out great. And here are some closeups. I've tinkered with the design over the years.

My version of the 2010 OSU schedule. This didn't get approved by Miller unfortunately. They went with something more generic.

Magic Hat Schedules

Last years OSU schedule based on the Fall Seasonal Variety Pack, Night of the Living Dead.
OSU basketball schedule with a #9 motif. This turned out great.
Blue Jackets schedule based on the winter variety pack, Feast of Fools. The seasonal was called HOWL and worked out perfectly for a goaltender mask.

TGIF

This is a placemat that I designed for 1 TGI Fridays location in Lorain. Turns out they loved it so much, that I do this for 6 different locations now monthly. You can send me a gift card anytime.

Assorted Logos

This was a collaboration with a co-worker, A.J. It was a promotion that Blue Moon was running. They made shirts, pint glasses and coasters from the logo.

This was for a charity bike run event.
I put this together for Chris at Gordon Biersch for Columbus Alefest. We devised a way for the beer to filter through a tube to add more hops. Thus, a Hop Hookah.
Generic Ohio State logo used for the Rosebowl.
And the regular season.
Our 5th year wedding anniversary logo. Similar to the Blue Jackets current logo. This mirrored our wedding logo, which was our initials in the style of the original CBJ logo. Ill have to dig that one up and post it.

Clippers Schedules

This seasons schedule. Not a lot of work to do, just drop some Clippers logos on a blank Miller Lite baseball template.
Last years schedule, I had to photoshop the beer vendor and make his Miller jersey look like a Clippers jersey.

Magic Hat St. Patrick's and Madness

A St. Patrick's Day poster I designed for the Columbus market. I turned Alan into a leprauchan. Classic.

This is a March MAdness Bracket I came up with. I'll post last years version in the future. This one is geared towards #9. It turned out great and Magic Hat asked if they could post this to their art site. Fingers crossed.

All Brands Window

This piece is a 4'x6' window wrap for our customer service window. It features every beer brand that we carry and is pretty dominate to the customer when they walk in. Mission accomplished!

Football Schedules

A big part of my job is creating sports schedules for local teams. Usually we take a generic sports tempalte and try to jazz it up to fit the team colors, etc.
Far and away, the most team schedules we print are for Ohio State football. Here is this past seasons version. We can't use anything related to OSU except red and gray.
Here is the previous season. We thought we could get away with the Buckeye necklace and enlarged 'O' in the text. We didn't. After sending these out to the market, OSU told us we had to remove them all.
Generic OSU for Coors Light.
Coors Light had a sponsorship with the Steelers the year they won the Super Bowl. For some reason though,, they didn't create a schedule, so we did.

Blue Jackets/ Molson Sponsorship

2008-09 schedule poster. These were hung all over Columbus until Molson created a more official, generic one . I created the pucks and the Molson stick shelf.
In comparison, here is the 2007-08 schedule. No mention of the Blue Jackets. I took the Molson template and photoshopped Blue Jacket player numbers onto the jerseys.

Oddly enough, we ran out of tap handles. So I was asked to create one. This is a Killians tap handle painted red with vinyl Molson lettering.I designed the puck label and we drilled the puck on. Finally, I took a beer koozie to polish off the look. I thought they turned out great. There were a handful of these in the Columbus market.
This never made it to the public. It is actually a Bud Light schedule poster that I photoshopped out the Bud neon lettering a replaced it with a Magic Hat logo and a little bit of glow. Much better!

HOPS

This is HOPS. I created him for a contest to rename a Miller distribution tool. I didn't win, but I still like him.

This is Alan. He is the owner of Magic Hat. I turned him into a crazy basketball fan for a March Madness bracket poster that I will post later.
Here is Alan as a snowman goalie created for a Blue Jackets schedule poster. The helmet is based on Magic Hat's fall seasonal, Howl.

This was for a t-shirt contest that Magic Hat did for 09/09/09. Unfortunately, I wasn't eligable, but I made one anyways.

Brandy

A friend of mine, Brandy Hickman, is fighting breast cancer. Here a re a couple pieces I've done for her.
A t-shirt design for a surprise benefit thrown for Brandy.
This is her logo. They sported this in a 3 day Breast Cancer walk.

Vader #9

Simply put. Darth Vader holding his and one of my favorite beers. Magic Hat #9. Im sure George would not care for my photoshopping.

Grocery Displays

This was for a Kroger in Mansfield. It is about 12x9 and is in the first hing you see when walking into the Kroger. The other side of it is below.

This is the mockup pieces for a Molson 'beer boni' to be made out of Molson cases. The final result is below.

These were shelf talkers to go on shelves in groceries, promoting our sponsorship with the Blue Jackets. They really helped drive the retail awareness.
